| What is automatically included with each vehicle? |
Our motorhomes all come with a flat screen TV and DVD player, as well as a toilet, microwave and hobs. Also included is kitchen equipment such as plates, bowls, cutlery, toaster, kettle, cooking utensils, chopping board, glasses, cups, mugs, frying pan, saucepan, pots, baking tray, baking dish, tea towel and can opener. On top of this standard vehicle insurance (excess applied), Airport transfer, Break down assistance, a road map and a customer call line. GST is also included. And if you still want some more comforts you can simply add products to your rental ranging including picnic tables/chairs, bikes etc. For the full list check out: Accessories Automatically included. |
| How old do I need to be to drive an Abuzzy Motorhome? |
You need to be between 25 and 75 years old. |
| Is a special licence required to drive? |
No. A full motor car drivers licence is only required and this must be viewed by Abuzzy on vehicle collection. A non-english drivers permit must have a translation. |
| Is GST and other taxes included in rentals? |
Yes GST is included in all charges quoted. |
| Is there mileage restriction? |
There is no mileage restriction for all rentals. When Abuzzy Insurance Option 2 is selected there are no Diesel Road User charges. This is a government tax for diesel vehicles based on the distance traveled, as there is no tax on the deisel when you buy it at the service station pump. Deisel typically costs approximately NZ$1.00/Litre at the pump. For petrol vehicles there is a Fuel tax included in the price you pay at the pump and therefore there are no other Petrol Road user charges. Petrol typically costs approximately NZ$1.70/Litre at the pump and approximately NZ$0.70/Litre is the road tax component which for Diesels works out to the equivalent of NZ$4.70/100km. We charge a Diesel Road User charge of NZ$4.70/100km when Abuzzy Standard Insurance or Insurance Option 1 is selected. |
| Can I pick up the motorhome on arrival at the airport? |
Yes, if you have specified this on the booking form in the comments section we will be there to met you and have the motorhome ready for you at Auckland or Christchurch Airports. |
| Do I have to pay for additional drivers? |
Yes, the standard rental allows for one driver, as extra drivers require additional insurance. These are detailed in the Terms and Conditions, as well as on the booking form when obtaining a quote. |
| Where in New Zealand can I stay in our motorhome? |
There are plenty of places to stay which can fit in with your sight seeing itinerary Refer to the Travel Information section for details. The advantage of Abuzzy Motorhomes is that you are mobile and can make your accommodation fit with your holiday. |
| Are there any roads that I cannot drive on? |
You should not drive on any gravel roads, as these are prone to accidents and in order to keep the hirer insurance costs down they are excluded form Insurance cover. You should also try to avoid narrow roads as the motorhomes are slightly wider than a normal car, and when meeting a vehicle coming the other way can make it difficult to judge distances/ clearances. This may also put you in a situation where you may have to reverse the motorhome so the on coming vehicle can pass. Steep roads are also advisable to stay away from, parking on these roads also makes it uncomfortable to habitat the motorhome. You also need to be carefully of overhanging tree branches which may scrape or even damage the top or side of the motorhome. Roads with strong cross winds also need special care when driving any motorhome due to the high sideways wind resistance. |
| Is there a surcharge for credit cards? |
There is no surcharge for Visa and MasterCard credit cards. There is how ever a surcharge for AMEX credit cards. Refer to the Terms and Conditions for these rates. |
| Is Insurance included in my rental? |
Yes Standard insurance is automatically included, however this requires a 5,000 NZD damage bond deposit. If you would like to reduce the damage bond deposit, you need to select another insurance option. These are detailed in the Terms and Conditions, as well as on the booking form when obtaining a quote. |
| Can I book and pay online? |
Yes you can book online and pavements are only taken after a confirmation email has been sent by Abuzzy motorhomes which includes a link to a secure online payement system.. The online quote/booking system checks to make sure that there is a motorhome to met you requirements and that it is available for the duration that you have specified. The next step of the quote/booking is to enable you to select the Insurance options, add additional drivers and any accessories you may require for the rental. When this is completed you then have a full quote for the rental you have configured. At this stage, you can print this out if you would like to check the hire details before proceeding with a booking. The last step is to make the booking, whereby this is lodged with our booking system and an email with all the details is forwarded on to your nominated email for your records. Within 24 hours of lodging this booking we will contact you to arrange for the booking deposit to be paid as per the Terms and Conditions. Payments are made only after a confirmation email has been sent by Abuzzy so as to confirm the hire details. Payment is by world wide Visa, Master card or Amex. Payment can also be by bank transfer if requested. Refer to the Terms and Conditions for full details. |
